Fenton retained the South Potteries Chess Challenge Cup with a comprehensive win against Meir last night. However, considering the grade differences on all boards it was a very good performance by Meir, particularly on the top two boards where, against all the odds, they won both games. This was the 15th match in the series, stretching back to 2004. Fenton currently lead by 9 - 6.
