In a match where Bournemouth came with one player short and a grading disadvantage both Zander (11 y old) and Leo (10 y old) played excellent and precise chess to win the points for Poole. Joseph on Bd 4 for Bournemouth a Yr 2 University student playing his 1st game over the board had an excellent game against Harry Mercer (10 y old) and deserved to win.
The match was played in good spirits and it was good to see new players playing their 1st competitive game for Bournemouth.
We look forward to the return.

Baccus match v Bmth v Poole
Very enjoyable evening thanks to Eric Sach and team . Excellent standard of play by Poole squad of Juniors and our new players gained valuable experience . A result of 3/1 too Poole Bishops well deserved We hope to improve on our performance on return match and expect full team next time of 4 players
