Board 3 was first to finish with Thomas executing a neat bishop sacrifice, that although refused, led to an overwhelming King side attack. On board 1 Femi exploited my weak pawn structure to win in a rook and pawn endgame through very precise play. 1-1.
Susan and Andrew battled out a very aggressive draw with both players mounting simultaneous attacks, but agreeing a draw in a complex middle game.
This left the final board decider in which Roger, a pawn up got a passed pawn to seventh rank and despite valid defence managed to force a win.
Highcliffe edged this one in a very closely fought match.
