I propose to follow the procedure I used this time last year to set up the Norfolk League for the 2023-3024 season using Steve Emmerton's guide "Getting Started For A League".
I will use the "Blackpool and Fylde League" organisation for a first pass, and the "Stephen Livermore Test" organisation if necessary for a second pass.
In outline the procedure is as follows:
1. Close old season, create new
2. Add clubs
3. Add users
4. Add events - the team league divisions, team knock out (draw by round) cup competition
5. Add teams to the events, assign team captains, set home match night, set how many home matches can be played on the same night
6. Add players to the teams (the equivalent of player lists in the old system)
7. Add local ratings to players who have no rating or an unreliable provisional rating
8. Set dates which should be kept free of fixtures e.g. Christmas, Easter
9. Set club dates which should be kept free of fixtures e.g. a club does not have access to its home venue in December
10. Add fixtures - using the automatic generation feature, old version
11. Re-arrange awkward fixtures
12. Export the fixtures to Google Calendar
13. Enter a match result, verify, submit
14. Enter a match adjustment, penalty
