Match Report
Many thanks to Fareham, who along with this match had two more home matches tonight. Bill blundered a rook from a very nice position where he was going to win a pawn. He still caused a few problems for Jack. I lost a pawn in an interesting position, and tried to complicate matters, but Paul worked out the complications and won the game nicely. With boards 3 and 5 also losing our last hope to avoid the whitewash was Alikhan who had turned his losing position around and had a drawn Rook and pawn endgame, but was very short of time and went wrong once the Rooks had come off. We will see if we can do better in the return match.
