Middlesex boards 11 and 12 were without category K or A standard original ratings as at 1 September 2022 and as at 1 May 2023. Neither player had been added to the Middlesex player list before the start of the match and no team list was provided in advance either in the LMS or direct to the Controller. Permission to play players with partial ratings had not been sought and accordingly no competition ratings were assigned as required by the eligibility rules. The results of board 11 and board 12 for the purposes of the match score are therefore adjusted to a Surrey win. A two point penalty also applies for fielding 2 ineligible players. The games concerned will be rated as played save for board 12 by agreement. This was a Surrey win over-the-board continuing by agreement after an electronic device infringement reported by a spectator which should have stopped the game with a Middlesex win over-the-board win instead.
