Bd 1 - Raymond Udena - Winwick chose to default this board in match as grade would have taken over 7000. A Friendly but rated match is being played between Raymond Udena and Jon Culshaw instead.

Defaults

Another gap in the rules but if a default is known in advance it should (in my opinion) be the bottom board that is defaulted so that all the other players click up one place. That is the convention I adopt, but it is only a convention not a rule.

Good Point Nick. To be honest Colin had clearly had a stressful day abd this was one issue he could have done without last night. I think if they had defaulted 5 it would have caused more of a problem because defaulting on 5 would have meant allocating 1400 default to board 5 (replaced a 1300) which would had the effect of Winwick needing to default on 4 and 3 as well. As you say there is no rule in place to decide the order of defaults and this needs to be addressed
