A hard fought match, with some wild positions, and some less so. We look forward to Round 3 in due corse.Away Cpt comments
Part 2 of our trilogy ended in a draw , all 4 boards were closely fought, Board 3 was first to finish with Jake, a piece up and a pawn on the seventh rank brought the concession from Kurt 0-1 . Board 2 was next to finish , a game with threats galore , white was attacking but always looked vulnerable to a back rank mate, and a one point had 3 pieces en prise, when the dust settled Ross had two Rooks , a piece and a passed pawn in a winning position against Ed's Queen and bishop, the game was over 1-1. Barry and John had a tight match until Barry gaining a clear advantage with his pawns numerically and positionally 2-1. Andrew had a big advantage in time and material against Mike who fought well, but Andrew was very precise. 2-2.
Thank you to New Milton for hosting, and we look forward to our next encounter.
