Paul Sandy finished first and after a steady game, Frank then finished. After a struggle, Chris had what seemed to be a drawing game but finally lost. Dave was loosing to Nick after a long struggle, until Dave managed to get Nicks Rook for nothing with a skewer. However it was not all over for Nick as Dave was short on time. With a lot of careful play Dave was just about to promote a pawn to a queen when Nick's flag fell.

Well done Southbourne and thank you for the much appreciated break with a drink and biscuits Also well done to Derek Purbecks only success with a well executed(Zugzwang) end game. Just a note on the rules we were not quite sure on with full wording on Dorset Rules Roll of the captains. But the captain(only)should immediately draw it to the players attention if observing a game and a flag falls Indicating a loss on time.
