Mike Davies won on Board 4 as Mike Tew made a bad move and it was all over before teatime. Chris Lane lost his queen for a rook and was the first to lose. Paul Sandy was next to lose as Thomas managed to win a piece in a complicated exchange by checking Paul in the middle of the moves. David held out for a long time but finally had to conceed as Andrew promoted a pawn to a queen and was pushing a second pawn down to on the flank to get a second queen.

Four very open and lively games of chess. Both teams played very attacking style leading to complex middle games and an exciting finish. The final game was decided by 1 tempo A hard fought and much needed win for Highcliffe.
