A promising start to the season, with a win for Poole E. Congratulations to our junior player, Jamie Doyle, who won in style. Even though the grades were very much in Jamie's favour, the game still has to be won. Joe Wood won his game (his first for the Club) against Mike Tew and Mike Minvalla achieved a creditable draw. Only our Captain (me!) let us down by letting a piece be trapped and lost. From then on, despite battling on, I was always on the back foot. So, well done team, and I promise to try harder on my board in the next match. As always, Highcliffe were a very friendly team and we look forward to the rematch at their venue later in the season.
