A close match. After two draws on boards 3 and 4, Mark Littleton's pressure eventually told against me leaving Martin Simons to try to save the match for Ringwood. He certainly gave it a good go, treating us all to a very instructive endgame holding Knight against Bishop with two pawns each but the Bishop side having a passed pawn. He made it look easy by focusing on controlling the square in front of the passed pawn rather than trying to push his own majority. Eddie Barker deserved equal credit for playing on and making Martin find the drawing line. Very good stuff to watch with no one leaving till it was resolved. So Ringwood failed to save the match and Wimborne recorded a deserved victory.
