Purbeck made the long journey to Highcliffe and typically brought a strong competitive team , two teams either of which could have gone top with a win. Once again it proved another close match with all games looking equal. Ken showed his class with an excellent kingside attack which proved decisive not only for the game but also the match, this game gave Highcliffe a 1-0 lead, then boards 4 then 3 and finally board 1 were all agreed draws. Thank you Purbeck for some great games. Merry Christmas to you all

A close match which went down

A close match which went down to the final game. I needed a win against Christian to draw the match and, although I was pressing throughout and (according to my mate Fritz) missed a win, Christian defended well and even had the advantage in the final position. We're already looking forward to the return in the New Year!
