Highcliffe recorded their first win in the division. Board 2 got the ball rolling with an aggressive attack that culminated in a quick win. The remaining boards went down to pawn endings and some tough fights. Board 4 was last to finish seeing white dominate and looking assured of the whitewash but black fought tenaciously and then threw away a win so it was probably fair at honours even.
