Two evenly matched teams saw Southbourne go 2-0 up and then Highcliffe fought back to level at 2-2. Highcliffes third consecutive draw which suggests that the league is very competitive. Thank you Southbourne for another entertaining evening. Good luck for the rest of the season RU

Southbourne Seagulls vs Highcliffe Castles

Always tight and evenly matched against Highcliffe and as always played in the best of spirits and fairness. After being slightly down on Board 4, Ollie came back for Southbourne on Board 4 and was very happy to have a win. Anton, on Board 3, had a good win against Rachel who possibly didn't have her best day but well played Anton. The games on Board 1 and 2 were tight initially with very limited movement and few pieces coming off. In the end, a good win for Highcliffe on Board 2 by Rob, a strong player. Florence was initially a pawn up but later, after the queen swop off, was battling in the endgame, with Roger coming through to win.
