An enjoyable evening despite the wind whistling across the playing field and an autumn feel to the night. I was engrossed in my game so wasn't able to keep track of many of the others. From the atmosphere, people certainly enjoyed the evening regardless of the result and the weather! Well done Highcliffe on their victory.

Highcliffe were welcomed to

Highcliffe were welcomed to the Fish inn by Ringwood CC . It was another festival of chess with a 9 board match. The teams were evenly matched , all boards very close. Dan and Tim were the first to finish both achieving 3 out of 3 in the summer league. Them Rachel and Mike drew so 2.5-0.5 for Highcliffe. Board 1 was an exciting match where Bruce played the Polish ! He was trying to provoke a response from Peter a thrilling game ensued. A game each moved the score to 3.5-1.5 it seemed to be moving Highcliffes way. Matthew won Robert H won and me and Martin agreed an interesting draw so 4-3 Highcliffe. Christian closed out his game against Graham to win the match. This left Bruce to show us all how to win a tricky endgame . So 6-3 . Chess again the winner RU
