A very exciting match between Wimborne and Poole. Board 4 was first to finish with an agreed draw in a very level position. On Board 3 John had a big attack on kingside for most of match but could not find a way through and draw was eventually agreed after a hard fought match. On board 2 Ian seemed to have the edge in position and time ( almost 30 mins up ) but allowed Mike to get some kingside action. Mike offered a draw but Ian felt as had to play on as looked like a win for Poole. At the end came down to seconds left each on clock and a sort of repition and agreed draw. At this time both missed a win in consecutive moves. On top board Mike had control of the board and after over 2 hours was domnating despite all pieces still on the baord. Mike then found a way through and seemed to be winning but allowed a desperate attempt by Allan to get a result suddenly turn in one fateful move to a win for Allan finishing just before 11pm. An important win for Wimborne in Div 1 but plenty of hurdles to go!
