The match was effectively reduced to 2 boards when boards 1 & 2 agreed early draws due to a health scare involving one of the Highcliffe players. Fortunately, this turned out not to be as serious as it could have been and a big thanks to Ringwood and, in particular to Kevin, for the generous manner in which they handled this event. Ringwood definitely had the edge on Board 1 at this point while I was preparing to play an interesting equal ending versus Peter on board 2. Highcliffe narrowly edged the match when Mads won on board 3 by checkmating his opponent who was a pawn up and pushing for a win. Ken drew on Board 4 when a promising middle game position fizzled out into an equal ending. Thanks again to Ringwood for their sportsmanship and for a good evenings chess.
