Thanks to the Wimborne players for making a difficult journey given the weather. Only three boards were played, with a win on board 1 and two draws being enough to win the tie, with board 4 defaulted. The two draws were both somewhat unremarkable, the win on board 1 came when Reenen expertly converted an opportunity provided by an incorrect pawn push in the end game.

Difficult journey home

It was hard enough getting there , even worse going back . Got shunted at a set of lights when a Van hit black ICE , not pleasant at all . One of our players simply couldnt make it due to impassable roads - apologies . As usual New Milton were very welcoming and a good evenings Chess was had
