A real 4 pointer. Bournemouth needed to win to have any chance of winning the league. Very close games on all boards. Material was equal on board 1, but James had more activity and converted it into a win. Next to finish was board 2. Although Zander was up a pawn his pawns were disjointed and so could not utilize this so it ended in a draw. The next 2 games finished at the same time. Ellis offered a draw after he forced a combination that led to a rook vs knight and bishop endgame. I declined it, due to having an octopus knight. I proceeded to play the endgame badly, whilst Ellis played it very well and slowly his h and a pawn worked together to leave me regretting my decision. On board 4 there were no pieces swapped off for 18 moves. This was then dissolved rapidly into a pawn endgame where Rob had an a rank passed pawn that couldnt be stopped without Mike losing all his other pawns. A great win for Bournemouth keeping their slim hopes alive. 2.5-1.5
