John was first to finish after managing to bring pressure on Ron's central doubled pawns. After that, with two past pawns marching up the centre, Ron resigned. David managed to sidestep many of Roger Howell's traps and eventually when they could see that both of them could queen a pawn at the same time, agreed a draw. Paul had an interesting game with Dan and eventually managed to trap Dan's king into a pretty check mate after Dan's King ended up in Pauls end of the board. Last to finish, Peter, (board 1) had what looked like a drawn position for a long time. Eventually Peter and Roger Chalk agreed a draw. Despite being out graded on all boards Highcliffe put up a goo fight.
