The match started a little late as Tony and Jo had a problem with one of the cars and a jump start was required. Despite starting last, first to finish was Finn who kindly stood in for Paul Sandy at the last moment. He pressured Jo and finished up in a position where he was going to promote a pawn to a queen at which point Jo decided to resign. Next to finish was David who was a knight up and pressured the kings position whilst Leo was busy trying to promote a pawn. David's attack was prevailed and Leo was mated despite sacrificing his queen and the promoting a pawn to get it back. Peter had a fairly passive game except that they castled on opposite sides and it was a race to see who would get through first. Finally a draw was agreed. John was lucky to get a draw as he came out of the Kings Gambit opening quite badly. He managed to hold his own and eventually with equal material and with the other games finished Tony offered a draw which was accepted. Thanks for the match.
