A close and exciting match.

A close and exciting match. I got a great position from the opening, but then drifted and Jamie almost equalized and I think I only won in the end due to Jamie's time pressure. Jon played a really nice game with the black pieces against Bruce. Board 3 featured Andrej against Madison and close throughout but ended up a draw after Madison, down to increments, had just one second on the clock at one point. The thought of losing on time resulted in him offering a draw in a better position. Steve had the better of the opening but was worse after the positional error of fg6 instead of hg6 leaving Tim with a possible passed pawn in the center. Tim managed to mobilize his extract center pawn supported by King and Rook. Unfortunately there were no defensive tricks that worked for Steve. So Weymouth edged it and provided they avoid a heavy defeat by Wimborne will win the Division 1 championships. Bad luck to Highcliffe who have just missed out.

Weymouth were worthy winners

Weymouth were worthy winners they have been consistent throughout the season, many of the matches finished 2.5-1.5 which shows how tight it was. We look forward to next year and more of the same best RU
