A late default meant Ringwood started 1 down, but a quick win by Julian equalised the "scores on the doors". I was next to finish when, in a difficult position, my opponents combination mis-fired badly and he resigned. That left Matt to try and create an unlikely victory given the start. However, Matt's opponent defended resolutely and eventually a draw was agreed in a position with King and Queen against King, Bishop and two pawns. At the end, with the pawn on the seventh supported by the King, no further progress was possible.

Another bad evening for the

Another bad evening for the Weymouth B team perhaps summed up by Steves game. Piece up after half a dozen moves and check mated after a further half dozen moves when he missed a one move cheapo. John defended well to get a draw in an ending though I feel he was better earlier on in the game.
