Close match - great experience for all

Many thanks to Tarik for his pre-match help in making this match competitive with 2 well balanced teams. This showed the usefulness of captains having informal discussions a week or two before the match - something not really possible, or convention, in the more formal setting of other leagues. All the games lasted well over an hour, and boards 1 & 3 almost went the full distance. Players on both sides demonstrated some good understanding of basic opening theory. The match was a credit to the Bacchus League, especially giving, in some cases, first experience of using clocks and score sheets. The time control was an hour each with no time increment.
