With the Buccaneers already winning the tournament, this game was solely for pride. Unfortunately Paolo was sick so didn't attend give the Buccaneers an early lead. Chris Spence then continued his excellent form with a win against Azhar Ghose to make 4/5 in the tournament. The game was quite congested but eventually Chris managed to work through the noise for a win. The next game to finish was board 4. It was a tightly fought game, but Tony managed to convert his advantage for his first win of the tournament. Well done Tony for persevering. The final game was a fascinating game between Dennis and James. In the opening the game refused to be defined as a standard structure - looking caroish or french with some added strangeness. It was a game where neither would castle and white had an overwhelming attack on the kingside with black having some small counterplay on the queenside. It was +10 for Dennis with James' king in horrible danger, but Dennis failed to find the killing blow leading to a rook+4 vs a knight+5. Dennis was still winning but failed to play accurately and James' queenside pressure meant he was suddenly playing for the win. It lead to a position where black ended with a knight+3 vs rook and Dennis was overwhelmed. An incredible win for James and a perfect score 6/6. Buccaneers finish with another win, 3-1.
