Highcliffe A were missing 2 players but still provided Southbourne A with a closely contested match. I thought I might have been losing after only 6 moves following a Bxf7ch move by Adam but post match analysis suggested the position was more resilient. Finn seemed to have a relatively steady win against Ken. Russell's game was close until Richard missed a pawn loss in the centre. James was a pawn up in the final position but his king postion looked shaky when he agreed a draw against Christian. We look forward to welcoming Highcliffe A at Southbourne in the return match.
