A good contest in our first outing in Div 1 Dorset. Wins on board 2 and 4 for Wimbourne and board 1 and 3 were draws.

Thanks to Bournemouth club

Thanks to Bournemouth club for the warm welcome and their first ever ( I believe ) 1st Division match in Dorset League. The Bournemouth top board had a surprise guest appearance for the season of Martin Simons and he had a close match with Mark which eventually was agreed as a draw after over 2.5 Hours play. All matches were hotly contested and my match against Sam was very exciting with him attacking my king ( which never moved in the game ) . I managed to win by winning a piece towards the end. Board 4 was next to finish with Stephen playing a strong game and winning after 3 hours. Board 3 went right down to an ending with James having the upper hand but Eddie managed to manoever to king against bishop and wrong rooks pawn finishing close to 11.00 pm.
