There are two concurrent club competitions, running in the background, throughout the Season (July to July).
The Club Championship (Standard Play)
This is single-round, all-play-all, drawing for colours before each game and with a time limit of 85 minutes plus an increment of 10 seconds per move.
The Rapid Play Championship
The Rapid Play club championship is a double round competition with players meeting twice with both black and white. The time control is 25 minutes with a 10 second increment. Throughout the year, Blitz games and tournaments are held on an ad hoc basis, usually with a time control of 5 minutes with a 2 second increment These games are all rated by the ECF.
