A close and interesting match between the two teams, the overall result largely decided by victories for Chandler's Ford on the 3rd and 4th boards. Board 2 saw a quick draw by agreement after much exchanging left both players with R+B and ~5 pawns, after the agreement was made they played on in a casual capacity and continued to agree it was a drawn game. John Taylor found themselves with very little time as they entered fought on with a significant material imbalance vs. James on his SCL debut. John Pellegrini won in a close Dutch Defence game vs. David Murchie, by resignation with an unstoppable mate in one available to black on the next move. Board one saw new player Alikhan play Ros for a second time, and found himself in a tricky situation on the back ranks, at times seeming like a forced mate was possible for Ros - analysis to be determined, but it certainly lead to a tense endgame and eventual resignation from Alikhan. A good victory for Chandler's Ford D, despite the slight rating imbalance and we wish Southampton C all the best of luck against our E team in a couple of weeks time.

Alikhan had his old Local rating being used. As he has a new K rating this has been removed, as otherwise it looked as if he was playing on the incorrect board.
