A close fought game by both teams. Daniel made a draw against Rosamund early. only 15 or 20 moves into the game, perhaps strategically on his part to gain rating points with less risk. John Davis, unfortunately (for Chandler's Ford) got absolutely destroyed on board 2 down a queen with little in exchange early and checkmated fairly promptly after that. I managed to beat my fellow captain opponent, negating the 104 points higher rating difference, in a situation where Somnath was desperately trying to find a way out from mate in 4 with very few options available. he ran out of time and I still had 50 minutes on the clock. On board 4 Keven also won on time, 22 minutes up when they timed out in a locked position where his opponent couldn't make any progress and Kev was up a single pawn. Southampton played very well against us and the close score reflects that!
