Firstly our thanks to David and his team for agreeing to change the date of this fixture. Southampton teams must be wondering what they need to do to beat Ringwood. After a draw on board one all games seemed pretty even on the other four boards until Alan missed a mating attack against Daniel on board 5. The match was then squared when Tomasz hung a Rook against me in a game in which he was better. Richard then got the better of Kevin on board 2. In the deciding game Dave should have won to make it a drawn match. Somehow though Rob "Houdini" Halse managed to secure a draw in a Queen and pawn ending . A very undeserved win for Ringwood.
