Results elsewhere meant that any result in the match would not change positions in the league table, Lytham 2 securing the title the night before. Congratulations to them, worthy winners. This gave the match a bit of an "End of Term" feel......especially as the champions league semi between Barcelona & Liverpool was on all the TVs in the cricket club! The only decisive game and the first to finish was between Charalampos and Nick the latter winning in 17 moves. The most interesting game and the only to last more than 20 (!!) moves was on board 4 between Haaris and Andy. Andy after being under the cosh managed to get himself back into the game and could have stolen it with a neat tactic on move 33. The game was agreed drawn on move 38 proposed by Andy.
