This match was played on 1st. April, 2019. The absence through injury of Peter Garrett from the 2nd. rapidplay team helped to make this match more one-sided than it might have been. Several of the automatic grades given are incorrect, as it is the August grades which should apply according to the rules. For instance, Ben's first rapidplay grade was in January, 110, not 133. The totals which actually applied were 634 and 525, meaning the 1st. team had to win 5.5 to 2.5. They had no trouble with this, and at the break, led 4-0. The longest lasting games were between Barry and Simon. In their first game, and under time pressure, Simon missed the chance to take Barry's strong, centrally-placed bishop with his knight, but would probably have lost anyway. Simon played well in their second game also. Oleg achieved a creditable draw against David, to prevent the whitewash. Poulron 1 now play Bispham in the Final.
