Ben Fearnhead and his Dad Paul had an excellent night winning all their games and making the difference between the two teams. Unfortunately I didn’t see any of the games. Oleg played well against me. In the first he defended well to beat me after I had given up the exchange for an attack and in the second despite me winning a pawn and having the two bishops, his better placed pieces gave him the draw. On board 2 there were two hard fought games. Michael came out on top in the first game right at the end taking advantage of Simons shortage of time. In the second game Simon played faster and Michael ended up slipping up in a difficult position near the time control.
