Lytham 4th team put up a valiant battle against a much stronger Lytham 2nd team. Ben Morris on Board 3 made his first appearance in the League with a creditable performance against the experienced Dave Aspinall. Richard Smith on Board 1 also gave Colin Walker a hard fight. John Cox started well with a strong defensive position but a costly 18th move turned the game in Phil Raynor's favour. A similar costly mistake by Peter Wilson gave Pat Coleman the only 2nd team win in a long and, until the mistake, even game
