Board 3 was first to finish, with David Filmer missing a mate-in-two threat whilst better. Lytham then went 2-0 up by winning on board 4. Next to finish was board 2, where Nigel with more active pieces in the end-game and was able to win a number of pawns. Board 1 was decided when, Patrick forgetting about the extra 15 minutes available after move 35, lost a rook in the perceived time trouble.
