Well done to Chedd B who extended their lead at the top of division 2 and effectively eliminated Crewe from the title race. With the last game in progress on bd 2 the match was evenly poised at 2-2. A ding-dong battle between Karl and Bill went the full distance finishing just after 10.30 with some 70 moves played before the dust settled and Bill emerged victorious.

Cheddleton 'B' Open Up A Big Lead

Cheddleton 'B' have opened up a big lead in Division 2 after seeing off fellow title challengers Crewe 'A' last night. They are now 5 points clear of 2nd placed Fenton 'A', who have 3 matches in hand, and 8 points clear of 3rd placed Newcastle 'B', who have 4 matches in hand. But it's points on the board that count and Cheddleton 'B' are now looking the likely Champions going into the New Year.
