The unexpected result of the Crewe derby, though, keeps Newcastle still alive, 2 points above second placed Crewe A, which has 2 matches in hand. Given the situation, the head to head between the two teams might be decisive, although it would be a mistake to rule out Crewe B, which is back in the race after tonight's result.
