A topsy turvy match
This was a match that could have gone either way.
At the half way stage, Southbourne A seemed in control with a win by Anuhas already in the bag on board 4, plus good positions on boards 2 & 3. Following good play by Dennis, the game on board 2 was soon level and a draw was agreed. However, the big turning point came when Russ lost his way on board 3 and Bill capitalised to equalise the match. This is when perhaps Bournemouth A should have won the match as the top board game went down to what seemed like a winning R + P endgame. However, in the 4th hour with increments and tiredness kicking in, Sam could not quite find the winning plan and a draw was agreed. Overall, a fair result and well played Bournemouth A.
