A night full of exciting and decisive chess with two very level teams. Board 2 was first to finish with Matt taking the lead for Highcliffe. Board 4 came next as I overheard that a closely fought drawn position (with perfect play) was lost and Christopher brought the scores level. I was able to execute a successful queen sacrifice on board 3 that won me a piece and then a piece and an exchange in the endgame bringing the scores to Highcliffe 2-1 Dorchester. All eyes turned to board 1. Tim had a Queen while Andrew had two rooks and a past pawn but the position was very delicate. With determination and both sides low on the clock Tim was able to fork the King and a Rook securing victory for Highcliffe. Thank you Dorchester for the exciting games and to Poole for hosting us.
