Purbeck outgraded Weymouth on the bottom two boards winning both games. Malcolm Steevens won for Weymouth on board 2. The match turned on board 1 where despite white’s space advantage a locked pawn structure and a good knight versus a bad bishop enabled black to keep things equal and a draw was agreed giving Purbeck the match.Match Report
