As expected a very tough match for all players but John's win over Steve was enough to secure the points. Despite being out-graded Richie did exceptionally well to secure a draw against Mark and always enjoyable visiting Wimborne club.

The match was very close with

The match was very close with board 2 agreeing an early draw but in a very fluid position. On board 2 Allan seemed to have a small advantage but could not find the most accurate continuation and another draw was agreed. On board 4 Mark was struggling to activate his pieces and was probably happy to draw. On 3 John had a very strong position with all his pieces active and Steve's minor pieces were badly placed and in the end this told and John won winning the match for Poole. As ever an enjoyable but tough encounter - but a long way to go in the season.
