A tough encounter against higher graded opponents, with four well fought games. Mihail threatened mate or King & Queen fork, forcing Pete to resign. Rob maintained pressure when Knight for 2 Pawns down, with ultimate reward after a long battle. Mike and Alan played a relatively sedate draw in comparison, although it probably did not feel that way. Tim came up with a distractig Pawn move which opened the door to a back row mate.

Yes, it was a hard fought match with a fair result, so well done New Milton, despite the sartorial regulations laid down by your venue. However, please bear in mind for the return match next year that ripped jeans and shorts are almost compulsory at the Original White Hart ..............!
