A pleasant evening at Wimborne who were hosting three matches expertly tonight. I seemed to have a good position from the opening, but Eddie neutralised the pressure well and may have been slightly better when we agreed a draw. Peter looked to have a pull against Richard early doors, and despite Richards efforts brought the point home. Rob got a good draw against Stuart in a game I didn't see a lot of. On four, Alex was playing his first match outside the Bacchus league and did weell. For most of us, John Bowley is a strong opponent and Alex did well to navigate the middlegame to a rook ending where John's experience finally told. I've been round 3 different clubs in the last week - Salisbury, Ringwood and Wimborne. The best thing about them all was the sheer number of people turning out! All three busier than I've seen before.
