A very gratifying win after giving away so many won games in past matches. Not that it was without incident. Mike was the exchange to the good before letting the game slip, whilst Peter had a clear material advantage, but settled for the draw ... after both players had previously offered, and refused, that outcome earlier. John had a clear command of space against an underdeveloped opponent, whiilst my game came down to a rook and pawn ending where Jan's pieces lacked the freedom of action enjoyed by mine.

Thanks to New Milton for an enjoyable evening, despite the loss it was played in a warm spirit - credit to Dan for an excellent draw after an early Queen loss, I managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and credit to Rachel for her excellent counter play. Look forward to the return and hope we can offer some stiffer opposition
