Several firsts for Leland 1, the first game of the season in a higher league and the first with a new captain. In the games the two Bills game was first to finish, followed by Sean’s game next. Sara is playing well at 5he moment after drawing her previous league game and doing well at last week ends Scarborough congress. On the last two boards the Poulton players both gambited pawns but never got enough compensation. Gary finished just before I did. It was nice to see Bill Laurie as we used to play for norcross nearly 40 years ago but not been each other for a very long time. All the games were closer than the grade difference suggested, thanks to Poulton for a good match in a nice venue.
