The aim of the League is to promote chess activities and competitions. It extends from Morecambe in the north to Leyland in the south and encompasses players of varied abilities and ages. The league has 3 divisions, Division A with no rating limit, Division B where the teams total rating must be under 7300 and division C

Nominated Players for 2022/23 Season
Preston in division A - playing two evenly matched teams (Rule 17a):
- For Preston 1, Malcolm Peacock and Brett Lund will not be eligible to play for Preston 2.
- For Preston 2, Peter Jowett and Jim Sumner will not be eligible to play for Preston 1
Lytham 2 and 3 in Division B playing in order of strength (Rule 17b):
- For Lytham 2 Phil Raynor and Andrii Ovdiienko will not be eligible to play for Lytham 3
Lytham 4 and 5 in Division C playing in order of strength (Rule 17b):
- For Lytham 4 Ben O'Rourke and Graham Smith will not be eligible to play for Lytham 5
