Poulton fielded two of their more recent members on boards 3 and 4, but neither David nor Peter, although playing well, could cope with the experience of Patrick and John. Colin beat Dave with the help of an opening the latter showed Colin 2 years ago. Dave had not checked on the answer to the opening. Boris saved the whitewash with a nice draw against Ray.
