Essentially this match was gifted to Lytham 4 by the default on Board 3. Also on Board 4 there was an early win for Simon against a new inexperienced player (Ellie Fairclough). Dave Hartley won a close game against John Cox on Board2. This left the deciding game on Board 1 between Keith Sansom and Ken Gorman who have had many previous encounters. Ken seemed to have the upper hand but in forcing an exchange of Queens left an opening for Keith to win a Knight. However with the match result in Lytham's favour and short of time, Keith offered a draw which Ken accepted.
